Welcome to the Autumn term for Year 1 and 2   -   Dove Class

This year your teachers are Mrs McLean from Monday to Wednesday and Mrs Hamilton -Smith on Thursday and Friday. Your Teaching Assistant is Mrs Turner. We also lucky enough to have some other lovely helpers coming in to support us this term.

We have an exciting term planned for you and are looking forward to helping you learn and have fun together.

This term you will need to bring your book bag and PE kit every day to school. Our PE sessions will normally be on Wednesday and Friday, please make sure that long hair is tied baThis ck on these days. You will have a reading book to practise each week at home and a sharing book that you will choose to take home too. Adults could you please write comments in the yellow reading record so that we know the children are reading the books. You will also have spellings to learn each week and occasionally may have some number facts to learn as well.

Our learning theme this term is called our Victorian School and many of our subjects will have links to our school, its grounds and the surrounding area. There are lots more details on our curriculum map.

You will have phonics, reading, English and maths lessons every day and other subjects throughout the week.

If parents or carers need to speak to one of us they may make an appointment through the office or catch us at the end of the day. Mornings are busy and are not appropriate for longer conversations although brief messages and updates are obviously fine.

           We are looking forward to a great term in Dove class!
